What is a Spirited Stories Trip and what makes it different?

Spirited Stories are traveling celebrations. Over three to five days we bring people together in a casual way around food and drink. Think of the dreamiest long weekend you can imagine, with great local friends doing all the curating. You just turn up and enjoy the fun.

Who are Spirited Stories Trips for?

Spirited Stories trips are for anyone who loves travel, sharing experiences with like-minded people, and the enjoyment of delicious food and drinks.

My friends and I want to book a private trip, is that possible?

Absolutely! Get in touch here and we’ll make it happen.

I have never done a group trip before. What is the group like?

Our trips invite like-minded people who are passionate about travel, experience, and tasting all that life has to offer. Our experienced trip leaders (who we call Tastemakers!) are always standing by to ensure a fantastic guest experience.

Is Spirited Stories a Travel Agent?

No, we are a tour operator. This means we are responsible for the planning, organization, and delivery of your trip. Spirited Stories is a fully bonded member of ABTA (membership number Y6752) and all trips are financially protected.

Who will my Tastemaker Trip Leader be?

We have assembled local experts and avid spirit fans as our Tastemaker Trip Leaders in all of our destinations to enhance and deliver your experience, making your trip one to remember.

Can children/young adults join the trip?

As our trips are focused on spirits and wine, you must be 21 or over to book a Spirited Stories trip.

How do I find out if I need a visa?

We strongly advise that you review official travel requirements for your country of departure and arrival before confirming any booking, as requirements for travel visas do vary based on your nationality and final destination.

Can I extend my trip?

Absolutely! Please contact us here with details of your request and we’d be pleased to support.

When should I plan to arrive in my destination for the trip?

We advise you to arrive no later than 15:00 on your first day. No one likes traveling to tight deadlines and unfortunately we can’t delay start times or refund missed experiences due to late arrival. If you wish to arrive in the city a few days earlier or stay later to extend your stay, we’d be happy to help with the planning!

Should I tip my trip leader?

The tipping of Trip Leaders is recommended and should reflect the quality of service you have received throughout your trip. We find that tips in the range of 2-3% of your trip price are fairly common.

Are flights included?

Because our guests are arriving from all over the globe, we do not include flights as a part of our package. To book flights we recommend contacting airlines directly or your local IATA registered travel agent.

Where does the trip meet?

Your Tastemaker Trip Leader will meet you at the hotel on Day 1. Prior to the start of your trip, you will receive detailed departure and hotel information via email, including when and where to meet your Trip Leader.

Can I book my travel to the destination city through Spirited Stories?

At this time we are not offering travel to the destination city. To book flights we recommend contacting airlines directly or your local IATA registered travel agent. Depending on where you’re traveling to, you may also want to consider traveling by train for a lower carbon footprint and better views.

Is travel insurance included?

We do not include travel insurance as everyone’s needs are different. However, having travel insurance in place for each person is a condition of your booking with Spirited Stories. We’ve partnered with Globelink to offer travel insurance to our UK and European guests. Globelink includes COVID-19 cover as standard. We also have links for insurance providers US and international residents. If you buy your travel insurance from elsewhere, please ensure COVID-19 cover is included. Trips

Is the itinerary subject to change?

Travel planning is a dynamic art. Things change.
Restaurants open. Roads close. We make every effort to minimize any changes, but amendments to the trip itinerary, such as timings, locations of meals, activites, switching days around to accommodate changing kick off times/dates, or for any operational reason for the benefit of the overall experience, can sometimes occur.

If I choose the shared room option, who will I be sharing with?

If you are joining as a solo traveler and choose the shared twin room you’ll be placed with a fellow traveler. We’ll always pair you with someone of the same gender. Twin beds are separate.

If you are booking with a friend, you can select two spots in the shared twin room (or if you are booking separately you should each select one spot in a shared twin room and drop us a note that you traveling together).

Is it possible to book a trip over the phone?

Absolutely. Please schedule a call here to arrange a convenient time for a call, so we can answer any questions you may have and get you booked on the trip of a lifetime!

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

Our cancellation and refund policy is date dependent and can be found in your booking conditions. We understand that sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances you may need to cancel your trip and we intend to make the process as seamless as possible. The trip deposit is non-refundable but fully transferable onto another Spirited Stories trip.

I want to change the name of one or more or the fan traveling. Is this possible?

Please contact us as soon as possible to check the possibility of a name change and we will advise you based on your specific requirements. Name changes are not permitted less than 31 days before the trip departure.

Is my deposit guaranteed?

Your deposit is lifetime and secures your place on the trip. Should you choose to cancel, your deposit is transferable to any future Spirited Stories trip. Deposits are not refundable unless otherwise stated as per Booking Conditions.
